Common questions

Do I need a partner for tango classes?

No. In our classes, we rotate partners regularly so everyone dances with everyone. You can also come with a partner if you prefer.

What should I wear to a tango class? (see tango glossary)

Comfortable clothes you can move in. For shoes: smooth-soled shoes work best. Avoid rubber soles — they grip the floor and make turning difficult.

Can I start mid-term or do I need to wait for a new cycle?

You can start any time. Our classes are drop-in format, so there's no fixed cycle to wait for.

I have two left feet — is tango for me?

Absolutely. Tango is not about talent — it's about connection, listening, and practice. Everyone starts somewhere, and our beginner class is designed exactly for people with no dance experience.

What level am I? Take the self-assessment quiz. · What is the difference between a group class and a private lesson?

Group classes follow a structured curriculum with partner rotation. Private lessons are fully tailored to your individual goals with one-on-one attention — ideal for fast progress or working on specific challenges.

Words from the floor

Some teachers don't just show you how to dance — they change the way you feel yourself in the dance. She had this rare gift: to explain even complex things with such lightness and humour that everything suddenly made sense — and stayed in the body. If you are in Brussels and looking for a tango teacher — you'll be in beautiful hands.

— Tatiana

After a long break with tango, I no longer had the technical skills, nor the confidence to go back on the dancefloor. I took a few classes with Alla and they made a very big difference. Alla has a very organic way of dancing and attentive eye when teaching: she observes and corrects small details in your posture, style, attitude. After a few classes, I found back the pleasure of dancing.

— Ruxanda

I recommend the classes with Alla. I appreciated her professionalism and dedication. She is an attentive observer and quickly detects ways for improvement in tango technique. She provided me with useful tips and advice to put in place on the dancing floor.
